Grand Theft Auto V grosses more than any movie ever

The already record-breaking game has made more money than even the Star Wars franchise since its release nearly five years ago.

Grand Theft Auto V's takings are reported to have topped $6bn (£4.2bn) - more than double the highest-grossing films ever.

Its takings have outstripped the revenue made by any of the highest-grossing films, books or music albums ever released.

Pennywise the Dancing Clown, the demonic sewer-dweller who preys on the fear of children, may be the source of the scares in Andy Muschietti's It, but the group of middle schoolers at the center of Stephen King's timeless and terrifying story, better known as the Losers' Club, are the film's heart and soul. Without them, It would be just another empty horror film.
